Welcome to Spicer!
On behalf of the Spicer City Council and the entire community, thank you for choosing to spend time in the Spicer area. Spicer is a beautiful, diverse and active community.
We are very proud to have the newest addition to our business community, The Green Lake Resort, Hampton Inn, with 51 rooms to accommodate all your needs located directly across the street from Green Lake. Book a resort vacation with them – you’ll have a wonderful stay no matter the season! In 2017, our downtown district had new light standards, light poles and updated LED lighting installed. Enjoy the music playing from the new speaker system that was installed on the poles as you stroll downtown. Six speakers were installed along with a Community Banner located on the pole next to the Green Lake Resort, Hampton Inn. Checkout the Community Banner for local event updates, places to visit and local weather reports. The Minnesota DNR Boat Ramp was updated in 2018. Updates provided additional parking spaces along with an area for decontaminating boats as boaters depart from Green Lake. What hasn’t changed is the fantastic array of restaurants and dining experiences. Spicer still offers the best dining for family and friends anytime of the year. Outdoors or indoors, fast food or a night out with music, great refreshments and dining. Spicer has something for everyone.
Spicer is known for its annual special events! When “Ice” is your middle name it only makes sense to celebrate with a WinterFest of four weekends filled with family events including the Polar Plunge, Frozen 5K and pond hockey on Green Lake. Summer brings out the biggest and best in Spicer…the 4th of July Celebration! A Grand Day Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on July 4th with Fireworks at Dusk! Be sure to check out the multiple music venues, flee market and food happenings going on throughout the 4th week. All the details for our events can be found on our website at www.explorespicer.com.
Thank you for coming to visit, enjoy all that we have to offer and we look forward to the day when you tell us you are coming to Spicer to stay.
