MARKETING COMMITTEE POLICY
Section 1: Purpose
In 2016 the City of Spicer installed the Intelli-streets system along Lake Avenue North that includes speakers, a banner and an electronic message board located at the Spicer/DNR Boat access. It is the purpose of this policy to establish an overall marketing strategy for the City of Spicer. To set a vision to promote area businesses and events through multi-media outlets. To establish guidance on the intended use and future use of all the multi-media outlets available to the City of Spicer.
Section 2: Committee
A marketing committee shall be established and appointed by the Mayor and City Council. The Committee will be comprised of: 1 Council member, 1 EDA member, 1 Local/Area Hospitality member, Staff Media Coordinator and City Administrator.

Promote to Spicer and surrounding area, supporting business and community growth through multiple media outlets.
4.01 Promote local events within the Spicer city limits and surrounding area.
4.02 Promote local attractions within the Spicer city limits and surrounding area.
4.03 Promote and support businesses within the Spicer city limits and surrounding area.
4.04 Promote and highlight the natural beauty of Spicer and surrounding area.
4.05 Cultivate new and existing visitor and business relations.

6.01 Event/promotion submission contract is available on www.explorespicer.com and the Spicer City Office. See appendix A
6.02 Contact businesses with information on how to submit information for advertising.
6.03 Businesses will supply their logos and photos.
6.04 Once information is provided by business on the website, Marketing Committee will review, modify when necessary and approve event.
6.05 Marketing Committee will promote events over Facebook, Instagram, Banner Boards where appropriate using logos and photos provided by businesses.
6.06 Information will be received and used by the consumer.
6.07 Use analytics and media feedback for measurement.
Section 7: Advertising Rates
The Spicer City Council will establish advertising rates for all forms of media outlets available to the general public in the Ordinance Establishing Fees and Charges adopted pursuant to §30.11 of this code, as that ordinance may be amended from time to time.
7.01 Large Electronic Board: The large electronic board is located at the Spicer/DNR Boat access along Lake Avenue North.
7.02 Small Banner Board: Located on Lake Avenue North near the Hampton Inn.
